Representative Engagements

  • Advanced Business Leadership Development (ABLE): A highly successful $175MM engineering and transportation planning company, recognized for its technical excellence and engineering prowess, understood that in order to stay competitive in a changing market, it needed to develop leadership capacity from within. Kathleen worked with the CEO and other key leaders to develop an annual, four-session leadership development program for 20 “high potentials” to further their business acumen and develop a leadership pipeline. The ABLE program became a centerpiece of organizational life within this firm. In its five years of existence, it attracted the best and brightest engineers, many of whom went on to become regional and line-of-business managers, as well as shareholders. In addition to co-designing and facilitating the sessions, Kathleen served as executive coach and facilitator to the group projects.
  • Agile and Innovative Response to Change: The Knowledge Management division of a Big 5 management consulting firm needed to quickly restructure and align itself to support unprecedented growth at the height of the ERP wave. Kathleen worked with the partners and their staffs to design an organizational structure which was conducive to responding quickly and coherently to requests for thought leadership and tools, thus giving the firm a decided strategic advantage in a highly competitive market. Kathleen also designed and delivered a series of training experiences for the staff to sustain the organizational learning and create a common language relative to leadership in the organization. One of the outcomes of this initiative was that the lead partners of the Knowledge Management division earned the respect and confidence of their line colleagues and became integral partners in developing business and setting strategy in the firm.
  • Executive Coaching: Kathleen served as executive coach for the CEO and senior management team of a member-owned financial cooperative. Kathleen created a strong coaching partnership with her clients through thoughtful and illuminating questioning; unwavering focus on core issues; actively listening to navigate the inherent complexities of their roles; and articulating observations and insights directly, eloquently, and without judgment. As a result, the individuals improved their understanding of their strengths relative to aligning their respective roles with the needs of the organization, to prepare for the successful expansion of their charter.
